Job Description


Overview of Position

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated self-starter based in Boston to join our team as a Sales Representative. This role will focus primarily on our home state of Massachusetts, with an emphasis on Boston and the Surrounding Metro Boston Area. This individual must have a deep passion for craft beer and the drive and motivation to share that passion with others. This position will report to the VP of Sales and will focus on growing sales within our distribution channel.

In addition to daily sales calls, this individual will play a key role in heightening consumer awareness of our brand and our taprooms/breweries by conducting events such as in-store samplings, brew fests, beer gardens, and more.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in outside sales, preferably within the beer industry. They should also have a deep passion for craft beer and the motivation to share that passion while building lasting and valuable relationships with our distribution partners, retailers, restaurants, bars, and end customers.

About Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co.

Mighty Squirrel was founded by friends and home-brewers Naveen Pawar and Henry Manice in 2015 and has since expanded distribution across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, and most recently, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

In December 2018, we launched our first brick and mortar taproom and brewery in Waltham, MA and have served hundreds of thousands of customers since then. Our unique space provides an immersive experience for our guests with our entire brewing process open to viewing from the taproom. In March of 2024, Mighty Squirrel opened its second taproom and brewery in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston, just a stone’s throw from Fenway Park. This Spring, we opened our third taproom and brewery in Arsenal Yards in Watertown, MA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and embrace Mighty Squirrel’s purpose, vision, and strategy.
  • Work to grow Mighty Squirrel sales volume at current accounts while relentlessly pursuing new business opportunities across the territory.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with our wholesale partners through collaboration and top-notch communication.
  • Conduct distributor ride-alongs to support partners and capitalize on sales opportunities driving sales volume and enhancing brand visibility in a crowded craft beer market.
  • Strategize with VP of Sales and our distribution partners to identify, plan, and execute sales initiatives that increase sales volume while driving brand visibility.
  • Create detailed weekly account visit plans utilizing our CRM to log information correctly and concisely.
  • Plan and execute a variety of promotional events in collaboration with key retailers and partners—often held during evenings and weekends—including but not limited to— beer dinners, tap takeovers, festivals, tastings, and sampling activations.
  • Meet various benchmarks and goals, both as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Think creatively to develop sales growth in an evolving craft beer market.
  • Analyze and understanding market trends.


Qualifications

· Out of this world communication skills

· A minimum of 2 years of prior beer sales experience

· Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

· Excellent time management and prioritization skills

· Thorough knowledge and interest in the local, regional, and national craft beer industry and emerging trends

· Tech-savvy with proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

· Detail oriented

· Must have ability to safely lift 55lb and move 165 lb using traditional methods

· Must have full-time access to an automobile

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks:

· Total compensation (base salary + bonus) from $50,000 - $78,000 (based on relevant experience and other factors)
