Twelve Percent Beer Project – Now Hiring: Cellarman

We’re expanding our production team and are looking for a motivated individual to join our cellar operations. This role plays a crucial part in the life cycle of our beer, overseeing fermentation progress, documenting key process data, and performing various tasks to ensure quality from tank to tap.

From managing yeast and dry-hopping to carbonating, transferring, and cleaning, this position requires precision, organization, and a passion for working behind the scenes in a dynamic brewery environment. Schedule flexibility is a must—weekends, evenings, holidays, and longer shifts may be required based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Cellar Duties

• Clean and sanitize tanks using caustic, acid, and peracetic acid
• Transfer beer using centrifugal pumps and centrifuges
• Carbonate beer to target specs
• Measure and monitor dissolved oxygen
• Execute dry-hopping operations from elevated platforms (scissor lifts, ladders)
• Harvest and pitch yeast; dispose of yeast, hops, and trub
• Maintain cleanliness across the cellar and brewery floor
• Record tasks and ingredient usage
• Perform routine inventory checks as assigned

Communication & Teamwork

• Keep open communication with supervisors and fellow team members
• Post updates on team platforms like Slack
• Attend team meetings and contribute to workflow efficiency
• Maintain professionalism and mutual respect with the crew

Preferred Qualifications:

·      At least two years of prior experience in a production brewery environment

·      Passion for craft beer and a strong interest in the brewing process
