Family owned and operated brewpub located in the Switzerland of America is seeking applicants for the position of Brewer. We have been offering great pub food and craft beer for the past 15 years.
Must be highly knowledgeable in all aspects of brewing and cellaring. Able to lift, organize and place 55# bags of grain on storage racks in the brewery. Must be able to weigh products, mill, mash, clarify wort, lauter, boil, hop, whirlpool, cool, transfer, pitch yeast, monitor fermentation, condition, test, carbonate, keg, clean and sanitize equipment. Rotate Inventory and seasonal beers frequently. A Brewing Science Degree or College Degree is preferred but not required. 3-5 Years Brewery experience required. Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Able to work in cold and hot temperatures varying from 34 degrees to 85 degrees. Must be able to lift and stack 165# kegs and manage the production of 60-70 (7 BBL) batches of beer annually. Procure grain, hops and yeast. Keep the brewery area and cellar room to a high degree of organization and cleanliness. Maintain brewers log and brew progress sheets in a accurate and organized fashion. Assist the Owner/General Manager with the filing of State and Federal Excise Taxes and Brewpub Report of Operations. Good time mangement and organizational skills.
