Job Overview:
The Brewer will be working with the Fermentaria’s Production Team to produce strange and beautiful beer. The main responsibilities of the Brewer are to produce wort, be responsible for the hot side of the facility, and interface with the Head Brewer and Brewery Director to manage day to day brewing. Cellar work – including FV CIP, yeast management, racking, dry hopping, and fruit additions – will also be required of the Brewer. This position may include lifting, moving, pulling, and pushing 35lb+ cases of bottles and cans, moving full kegs onto and off of pallets, driving a forklift, climbing ladders, working with chemicals, and working in a team environment. Members of the Production team should have a generally positive attitude and keep an immaculately clean workspace. Production team members should expect 35+ hours of work a week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Following proper SOPs in all aspects of production
- Wort production (milling to knockout and yeast pitching) on a 20-barrel NSI brewhouse
- CIP and COP of brewhouse vessels and Fermentation vessels
- Knowledge of all aspects of cellar work and working within the cellar
- Recording production steps – on paper and electronically using our brewery management software, Ekos
- Basic QA/QC work (cell counts, VDK testing)
- Assisting Production Director, Head Brewer, and all Production Team members in their role
- Organizing of dry goods area and cold box
- Assisting with inventory of all brewing ingredients (malt, hops, fruit, …)
- Participating in Team Meetings
- Adhering to all safety protocols set in place by Tired Hands Brewing Co
- Maintaining an immaculately clean workspace

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- High School Degree
- One or more years brewing at a similarly sized craft brewery
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
- Able to lift 35lbs; able to move 55lbs using tools such as a hand truck or a forklift
- Able to kneel and stoop occasionally.
- Able to stand and work for up to 12 hours at a time
Desired Qualifications:
- Two or more years brewing at a similarly sized brewery
- Forklift certifications and aptitude
