Status: Exempt / Salary + Benefits

Purpose: The Key Account Manager is responsible for selling and executing the sales and marketing program for key national chain accounts. Has the responsibility for the development and implementation of National Sales Programs within assigned account(s). 

Account Base: Key accounts for this role include Ahold Delhaize (Food Lion, Hannaford, & Giant), Costco, Harris Teeter, Publix, Southeastern Grocers, Meijer, Kroger, Walmart, Wegmans, and additional accounts as assigned.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Sell new and expanded distribution to multi-unit, regional and franchise chain accounts. Including Large Format Grocery, Mass Merchandiser, and Convenience Store customers.
  • Maintain current placements and relationships with existing key accounts.
  • Develop, sell, and implement custom-created promotional programs to listed off-premise accounts.
  • Communicate sales results to PRESS leadership, field sales and distributor networks to ensure execution of retail plans and promotions.
  • Manage budget allocations, ROI, and other financial responsibilities. Execute against account plans and retail budget to maximize established sales goals.
  • Preparation and delivery of detailed and professional sales presentations for account business reviews and sales calls. 
  • Uncover opportunities and grow volume in target account base.
  • Assist Inside Sales with ABPs, retail execution, programming, distribution gap communication, and overall merchandising efforts.
  • Performs additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:   

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Beverage Industry, preferably with large, centralized retail accounts.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to independently build customer and team rapport.
  • High and excitable energy for taking on new challenges with a hands-on attitude.
  • A team-first & success-oriented attitude with an aggressive growth mindset.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and merchandising skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to understand industry reports, analyze syndicated data, and familiar with VIP.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
  • Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. 
  • Climb or balance stairs/ladders. 
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. 
  • Must have close vision, distant vision, and ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision. 
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license, be able to drive a car and travel via plane/train as needed.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations, up to 50%.
