Eastern NC Sales Representative

This key person will serve as the primary Sales Representative for Hi-Wire Brewing within our Eastern North Carolina market. The role will be based in the Raleigh/Durham area and will cover our Eastern NC territory with regular visits to key areas in Virginia.
Candidate requirements
Candidates must be a self-starter, and must be able to maintain business-like behavior during and after consumption of alcohol. Candidates must have a flexible schedule; ability to work some nights and weekends. They must also have a clean driving record, and must be proficient in MS Office and Google Suites. The ideal candidate will preferably already live in Raleigh/Durham or the surrounding area.
Key Responsibilities
- “On the Street” Sales
- Take a data driven approach and target building business in existing accounts, opening up new accounts and gaining back lost accounts.
- Coordinate and support brewery events (samplings, retailer events, festivals, etc) that generate brand awareness and consumer engagement.
- Work with distributor on a regular basis, concentrating on increasing distribution in both the Off and On Premise channels
- Develop key customers in the territory and attain a preferred vendor relationship with said retailers to gain sales and distribution
- Work with distributor to design, print, and/or put up signage and point-of-sale in accounts regarding Hi-Wire, particularly with key accounts
- Participate in “ride withs” with sales reps and team leaders from each distributor in entire territory
- Distributor Relationships
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with distributor sales personnel to gain “preferred vendor” status
- Coordinate wholesaler education for new beer releases and for seasonal beer releases
- Organizational / Reporting
- Maintain and submit daily/weekly/monthly records of account calls, placements, and general market impact via CRM software (currently KARMA)
- Keep a weekly/bi-weekly planner of goals and account calls within each wholesale territory
- Take a data driven approach when developing schedules to maximize ROI for time spent in the market.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Strong knowledge of the craft beer industry, the three-tier distribution system, the local craft beer market, and key retailers.
- Proven ability to be an independently working self-starter

- Excellent presentation skills and engaging public speaker
- Innovative ideas and not being afraid to think outside the box
