At Commonhouse Aleworks, we're more than just a brewery — we're a cornerstone of the Park Circle community, built on the idea that beer brings people together. We're looking for a talented and driven Head Brewer to lead our Brewhouse operations and take our beer—and our team—to the next level.
As Head Brewer, you’ll be at the heart of our production, shaping everything from brewing strategy to team culture, ensuring every pint that leaves our brewhouse reflects our values of quality, integrity, and connection. This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to our COO, and an exciting opportunity to impact both the beer we brew and the people we serve.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead all brewing operations from grain to glass, including brewing, cellaring, packaging, and quality control.
- Manage and develop a high-performing Brewhouse team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and positivity.
- Collaborate with leadership to create a brewing calendar aligned with market trends and community demand.
- Drive innovation and efficiency in processes to reduce cost of goods sold, manage inventory, and optimize output.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, oversee payroll submissions, and manage raw material procurement.
- Serve as a proud ambassador of the Commonhouse brand at events, with partners, and in the local community.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in production brewing, including staff management, scheduling, and cost control.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a knack for mentoring and motivating teams.
- Deep knowledge of brewing science, equipment, and brewery operations.
- Solid understanding of business operations, inventory, and financial metrics.
- Tech-savvy with experience in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, POS systems, and brewing software.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs. regularly and move full kegs (up to 165 lbs); forklift and pallet jack operation required.
- Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license.
