We’re seeking a strong, experienced brewing leader to drive production, elevate quality, and lead a growing team across multiple facilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of Brewing is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the direction, planning, and execution of all brewing operations. You’ll oversee production at our flagship Truckee facility and play a key role in the launch and scale of new locations. This role requires an experienced brewer with the ability to lead people, implement systems, maintain world-class quality, and collaborate across departments. This is a hands-on role that includes active participation in brewing, cellaring, and packaging duties alongside the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage the brewing, cellar, and packaging teams at the Truckee production facility.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, CEO, and Sales & Marketing teams to develop quarterly and annual production plans.
  • Set and track KPIs to measure performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate production planning and raw material allocation across all brewery locations (Truckee, Reno, Mammoth) to ensure alignment in sourcing, yeast propagation, and inventory.

Brewing Operations

  • Actively participate in day-to-day brewing, cellaring, and packaging operations while overseeing schedules and ensuring production goals are met.
  • Develop and refine beer recipes to align with brand identity and market trends.
  • Manage raw material procurement and inventory using brewing software systems.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and sanitary operations throughout the brewing process.
  • Support our barrel-aged and specialty programs including Eclipse releases—managing barrel procurement, ingredient sourcing, and scheduling.

Quality & Facilities

  • Maintain brewing equipment and support facility upkeep, including boiler, glycol, centrifuge, and pasteurizer systems.
  • Ensure all locations uphold strict cleanliness, sterility, and safety standards.
  • Continuously improve SOPs, cellar practices, and brewhouse efficiency through data-driven decision-making.

Team Development

  • Lead by example to foster a high-performing, collaborative, and respectful team culture.
  • Oversee onboarding and ongoing training in coordination with the Head Brewer.
  • Build, coach, and retain a team of skilled brewers and production staff.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • You’re a proven brewery leader with high standards and a passion for quality.
  • You think strategically but don’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves.
  • You’re a team builder who leads with integrity and drives accountability.
  • You’re a clear communicator who can work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
  • You thrive in structured environments but know how to adapt and problem-solve on the fly.
  • You’re comfortable using software, tools, and data to plan, analyze, and optimize.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of commercial brewing experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of brewing processes, QA/QC, safety, and recipe development.

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs and move 150 lb kegs.
  • Experience with expansion, multi-site operations, or large-scale production is a plus.
