POSITION SUMMARY

The Taproom Manager in Fort Collins will perform complex managerial oversight to all guest-facing functions within the Fort Collins Brewery and Winery Taprooms. The Taproom Manager is accountable for the overall leadership of the daily operations, effective team management, and maintaining a strategic plan while delivering exceptional guest experiences in the Fort Collins Taprooms. Additionally, the Taproom Manager will be looking for ways to improve business processes, guest experiences and co-worker engagement. This position will work closely with the Taproom, Assistant Manager & Marketing teams and will report to the Director of Taproom Operations. 


The schedule for this position is Thursday-Monday. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS           

Team Development/Management

  • Ensures proper performance management of co-workers 
  • Accountable to be present and available during the taproom hours, including nights, weekends, and special events 
  • Assisted by Human Resources, lead taproom interviewing and hiring processes; select, orient, train, schedule, coach and counsel tap room co-workers; communicate job expectations and monitor, appraise, and review job contributions
  • Work with Beer and Wine Production Teams to educate coworkers on: brewing/wine making knowledge, beer styles, wine varietals, beverage presentation and tasting notes. 

 

Leadership Engagement 

  • Ability to identify the needs of the Taprooms, effectively initiate next steps, and then move through that change effectively
  • Model the OBC culture and live the values of OBC, “Always better." 
  • Work closely with Marketing and Production on coordination of beer releases 
  • Support charitable outreach commitment and engage with the Outreach Coordinator and Charitable Committee regularly 
  • Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive, revenue generating plan for taproom space rental and events
  • Foster relationships with community partners and neighbors 
  • Support Marketing: educate customers about company's story and values through knowledgeable interactions and tastings, timely point-of-sale requests, oversee/engage in social media 
  • Provide and engage in strategic planning as related to beer & wine releases, events, marketing innovative ideas

  • Exceed customer expectations of Odell Brewing to create an emotional bond that reinforces the brand position and brand strategy
  • Serve and sell alcohol responsibly 
  • Consistently offer friendly, informed and personal customer service
  • Coordinate the décor and cleanliness of the tap room to ensure appropriate ambiance
  • Maintain a welcoming, exciting, inclusive, educational, and fun visitor experience 
  • Provide event coordination and logistics: review opportunities and respond to inquiries 
  • Handles delicate or difficult guest situations including complaints, negative reviews, and ensures resolution 

 

Daily Operations 

  • Implements and maintains programs targeted at customer loyalty 
  • Monitors and completes administrative work to include reconciliation, invoicing, and other accounting-type duties 
  • May need to operate behind the bar and support Taproom Teams during busy times or for coverage as needed
  • Oversee completion of Taproom Merchandise processes and sales
  • Ensures beer quality; manage facility draft system, refrigeration, beer inventory and cleanliness of glassware and bar and line cleaning 
  • Maintain safe, healthy and sustainable taproom environment: establish, follow and enforce sanitation standards and procedures, comply with health and legal regulations and observe taproom safety and sustainability practices

  • Works with the Director of Taproom Operations to build and manage budgets to achieve P&L goals
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase average transaction
  • Maintain margin goals
  • Analyze trends and variances on beer, wine and merchandise to forecast inventory needs and meet sales goals


REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Resides in Fort Collins, CO or willing to relocate (relocation assistance available)
  • 5 years + bar/restaurant, brewery/winery management experience
  • Experience must include purchasing, inventory controls, marketing, budgetary controls, personnel supervision and process improvement. 
  • Proven strategic leadership experience
  • TIPS Certification
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Restaurant POS System 
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Proficient in practical usage of Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for service and providing positive guest experiences 


 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  •  Ability to work long hours on your feet
  • Ability to move and/or lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to remain focused and level-headed under demanding situations

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Odell’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

 

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $75,000 based on experience + bonus opportunity
