Responsibilities
Oversees Sales Strategy & Execution
- Alongside the CEO, develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to grow our distribution footprint and to drive revenue growth, including both on-premise and off-premise channels.
- Establish sales goals, track performance metrics, and adjust strategies to achieve targets for specific markets and individual sales reps.
- Collaborate with the CEO, Marketing Manager, Director of Brewing Operations, and Taproom General Manager teams to align sales efforts with production capabilities and brand messaging.
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and C-stores.
- Conduct regular visits to accounts, providing education on our products and ensuring brand visibility.
- Represent Meanwhile Brewing at industry events, festivals, and trade shows to enhance brand recognition and develop new business partnerships.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the sales team, providing training, guidance, and support to drive performance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales department.
- Work closely with the leadership team to align sales goals with broader company objectives.
- Lead recruitment efforts to hire value-aligned individuals and ensure a seamless onboarding process.
- Foster a positive work environment that drives employee engagement and retention.
Self-Distribution & Fleet Management
- Oversee the delivery and draft technician team, ensuring efficient delivery operations and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee draft technician team and work alongside 3rd party vendors to ensure proper maintenance of retail account draft lines
- Manage our fleet of vehicles, ensuring maintenance and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize delivery routes and reduce costs.
- Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations for self-distribution and fleet operations.
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
- Oversee digital marketing efforts, including social media, email campaigns, and website content.
- Collaborate with the brewery leadership, Marketing Manager, and 3rd party consultants to produce compelling promotional materials and campaigns.
- Manage relationships with Public Relations team, media outlets, influencers, and industry partners to expand brand reach.
Market Analysis & Reporting
- Track and analyze marketing performance metrics to optimize campaign effectiveness.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Provide regular reports and insights to leadership on sales performance, customer feedback, and market dynamics.
- Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and return on investment.
Requirements to Apply
Professional Experience:
- At least 5 years of senior sales experience, ideally in the craft beer/alcohol or other relevant industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of the Texas craft beer market, including distribution networks and key industry players, is preferred.
- Experience managing wholesale and distributor relationships is preferred.
- Prior experience leading and developing a sales team is strongly preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Passion: Passion for craft beer and hospitality is a must. The more you know about beer and the brewing process, the better – Cicerone Beer Server or similar certification is strongly preferred.
- Sales Acumen: Deep understanding of sales strategies, pricing structures, and market trends in the craft beer industry.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and lead a large, diverse team, while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
- Technology Proficiency: Ability to analyze data, develop forecasts, and execute sales plans based on insights. Proficiency in CRM software, Google Workspace, and sales reporting tools.
- Certifications: A valid Texas TABC Certification is required. Food Handler Certification is preferred. Certified Cicerone or similar beer industry accreditation is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- At times, the job can be physical. Must have the ability to: lift/roll 55–165 pound kegs as needed. Capable of twisting/turning, reaching over your shoulders, climbing stairs, working in hot/cold/wet conditions, bending/stooping, and standing/walking.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally out of state.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
