What You'll Do
Based in Port Adelaide, South Australia, the Head of Brewing Operations will lead the efficient, safe and quality focused production of high quality FMCG beverage products across all areas of the site supply chain.
This role offers a distinctive combination of operational leadership, strategic vision, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a fast paced and dynamic organization.
The Head of Brewing Operations will play a key role in building, motivating, and expanding a cross-functional Production team. Externally they will also be responsible for representing Pirate Life at trade events.
They will focus on inspiring passion, fostering technical abilities, and advancing safety culture and initiatives. This position provides the chance to lead with integrity, champion continuous improvement, and showcase strong leadership across all teams on site.
Finally, they play a pivotal role in driving innovation and recipe development with the primary aim of pushing the boundaries and developing nationally scalable products. As well as refining the current offering and working with suppliers to source the best ingredients available to us.
What You've Got
- Minimum 5 -7 years’ experience in a variety of Senior Operations / Site Management roles, in medium or large business - preferably within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector.
- Qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Management, Food Technology, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Desirable to have a brewing sciences qualification (IBD or tertiary equivalent).
- A strategic thinker who can develop and communicate a strong vision.
- Proven leadership and people management experience to drive achievement towards team and business results.
- Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to craft world-class recipes
- Track record of representing a business or brand in public
- A demonstrated achievement of improvement & change in a traditional manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and familiarity working within GMP and HACCP frameworks.
- Intimate knowledge of Safety management systems and their application in an FMCG environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel with an ability to manipulate and analyze data.
