PACKAGING OPERATOR

Location:

Reports to Maintenance & Packaging Manager

Compensation:

Job Summary:

The Packaging Operator is responsible for all facets of packaging operations, including keg cleaning, filling, can line operations, labeling and date coding, CIP, and quality assurance. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with previous canning experience but we are also open to training an ambitious new team member just getting into the industry. 

Specific Responsibilities:

• Keg cleaning and filling
• Packing off and palletizing several thousand cases in a day
• Can line operation: Depal, Filtec, Date Coder, PakTechs, Cartoner, Tray Former, Pasteurizer, and Filler
• Cleaning and sanitizing of packaging equipment and brewery facilities
• Handling dangerous chemicals according to safe practice, SDS, and IABC SOP's
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Timely and accurate record keeping
• Performing routine preventative maintenance, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Adherence to safety rules and cGMP guidelines
• Any and all other tasks as outlined by the supervisor

Job Skills Required:

• Computer Literacy (MS Word, Excel, ability to learn and navigate HMI’s)
• Forklift experience preferred

Experience Requirements: 

• HS Diploma or Equivalent
• 21 years of age or older

Physical Requirements:

• Able to twist, bend, kneel, work in a loud, wet factory environment every shift
• Able to regularly lift/carry 44-pound boxes
• Able to regularly lift/carry 55-pound bags above waist level
