We are looking for a Taproom General Manager for our Roxbury location. Candidates must be passionate, self-motivated, resourceful, and conscientious. The goal of this role is to work with owners/leadership to oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve Long Live’s taproom objectives in guest service, event planning, beer quality, cleanliness and sanitation, sales, and employee retention.

DUTIES:
- Managing roles of team members on the floor – you will be working along side our FOH staff both behind the bar and on the floor
- Recruit and interview new potential FOH staff members
- Provide ongoing positive leadership and coaching to staff
- Hold staff accountable for service standards and operational procedures
- Help maintain and implement SOPs to enhance efficiency + quality of service
- Supervise and participate in day-to-day operations
- Keep and regularly update accurate inventories
- Safely and accurately manage cash drops and bank deposits
- Creating a positive and engaging experience for guests through elevated service
- Ensure organization and cleanliness of the taproom
- Ongoing training of taproom staff
- Managing taproom scheduling and managing labor costs
- Taproom event management including ongoing programming, food truck scheduling, semi-private bookings and rentals, and more
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws
- Maintain company standards through ongoing training and oversight
- Required to work at least (4) days actively behind the bar – including two weekend days – as this role requires enhanced visibility and access.
- Ability to work during peak periods such as weekends, evenings, and holidays (required); as noted above, this job will require active participation in the taproom
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proactive problem-solving skills
- Experience with POS systems, schedule writing, and inventory management
- Excellent guest relations skills with a strong focus on a hospitality-forward mindset
- Ability to develop and implement organizational procedures

- Working knowledge of labor and safety standards and laws
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 3+ years experience managing a bar/restaurant, brewery, winery, or other relevant business (required)
- Experience in various capacities of restaurant/bar staff (i.e. waiter, bartender, etc.) is required
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Event management experience (preferred)
- Possess a valid MA Driver’s License + live relatively close to the Boston taproom
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and retain employees (required)
- Possess basic to advanced math skills and the ability to safely handle money
- Proficient in the use of Slack, Google Sheets, and Google Docs
- Possess or be able to obtain TIPs certification
- Possess working knowledge of beer and craft beer industry
- Possess strong knowledge and enforcement of ABC laws
- Possess an awareness of local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws.
- Able to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs.) safely
- Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend during active shifts
- Able to work in crowded and confined spaces
- Able to maintain excellent customer service and a professional appearance suitable for guest interaction while working under pressure
