Thunder Island Brewing: Mrs. Pierce's Porter
Official description from the brewery:
In 1915, the Oregon Daily Journal reported, “When Mrs. Pierce of Welches killed a bear with a garden hoe...she set an example for all the people of the mountain country.” It further claimed that “The sport should become popular now, because everyone can afford a hoe, and bears are plentiful.” While we do not condone killing bears these days, we still toast this badass with a robust porter, with notes of bakers chocolate, molasses, and dark rye bread.
