Position Summary
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment. This role also encompasses managing logistics activities, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in warehouse and logistics management.
Responsibilities
- Logistics Management:
- Alongside third-party providers, coordinate and manage inbound and outbound logistics , including transportation and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate with carriers and logistics providers to secure favorable rates and service levels.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any transit issues.
- Identify opportunities to optimize logistics processes for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Provide resources and work directly with other departments to help provide excellent customer service and optimize efficiency.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Manage and optimize all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Direct-to-consumer shipment supervision and management.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and material flow processes.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through regular cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports on warehouse performance metrics, including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and shipping costs.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential challenges.
- Technology and Systems:
- Utilize warehouse management and inventory systems (Ekos, Shipstation) and other logistics software to streamline operations.
- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in warehouse and logistics management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a warehouse and logistics management role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and other analytical software.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a warehouse and logistics management role.
- Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCMP, APICS).
- Familiarity with nationwide shipping and trucking regulations
- Proven experience with warehouse management systems.
