Confluence Brewing Company is seeking a professional, self-motivated, energetic, and passionate individual for a full-time shift brewer position. This position will be one of several brewhouse team members who rotate on and off the brewhouse throughout the year. When not scheduled to be on the brewhouse the team member will be responsible for all other tasks related to the production of beer from grain to glass. Typical job tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Produce Wort on a 4 vessel 20 bbl brewhouse 3-5 days a week, handling all aspects of said production, including but not limited to: milling, mashing, lautering, boiling and cooling.
- Assisting with pack-off and palletizing of cases of 12 and 16 oz cans during canning runs.
- Kegging of finished beer as directed by the Production Manager.
- Assistance in packaging bomber bottles for select beers.
- Empty keg organization and cleaning.
- Monitoring fermentation activity and maintaining beer logs.
- Clean-in-Place of Fermenter and Brite Tanks in accordance with brewing and packaging schedules.
- Dry Hopping and handling of other fermenter additions.
- Participating in sensory training and evaluations.
- Janitorial tasks related to overall brewery cleanliness, such as scrubbing cellar floors, cleaning cellar drains, and cleaning tank and equipment exteriors.
- Operating a 4-Head Wild Goose canning line and Andritz Centrifuge
The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for craft beer, experience working in a packaging brewery environment, and a desire to explore the wide gamut of brewing techniques and styles. This position is a full time position, Monday through Friday with a handful of Saturday shifts throughout the year. Physical requirements and general abilities for the job are as follows:
- Lift 55 lbs from waist to shoulder high.
- Lift 150 lbs from ground to waist high.
- The ability to squat, bend at the waist and crawl underneath fermenters and brite tanks.
- Work in cramped or confined spaces.
- Work safely with chemicals with reasonable safety accommodations.
- Ability to perform basic math and write legibly.
- Ability to work in a loud environment with reasonable safety accommodations.
Starting pay range is $20 - $25/hr depending on industry experience.
