Brew Theory is searching for a qualified QA/QC Manager with a dedication to analytics & microbiology.
Our Analytical & Microbiology Lab Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring good laboratory practices are implemented, documented and sustained. This position oversees and supervises laboratory staff providing guidance and training as needed, reporting to the Director of Quality. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Follow all standard operating procedures and safety regulations in accordance with cGLPs, and GMPs
- Oversee and/or perform complete method development and validation of analytical/micro methods for analysis of raw materials, finished goods, and stability samples per USP, AOAC, NSF, and ICH methodologies.
- Review and evaluate test data generated within assigned area of responsibility for technical accuracy; recordkeeping, oversee and audit laboratory non-conformances, preventive, and corrective actions.
- Prepares laboratory for inspections and audits.
- Maintain instrumentation such as: HPLC, GC, ICP-MS, Protein Analyzer, Karl Fisher, UV/VIS and FTIR among others.
- Monitor testing on raw materials and finished goods following corresponding specifications using approved and validated methods.
- Review raw materials and finished products micro testing reports.
- Review incoming water and purified water systems used to produce finished products, including Water Analysis Sheet and RO/DI Water System Check.
- Review analysis performed at external testing laboratories when requested.
- Conduct investigations and OOS on aberrant results.
- Evaluate new analytical/micro test equipment and/or methods.
- Review, recommend and implement new or enhanced laboratory methods, practices and equipment.
Successful applicants will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of various testing techniques used in the microbiology field is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience in Quality Control, Analytical Method Development and Wet Chemistry
- Strong knowledge of dietary supplement and food industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to direct others in job duties.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Regulatory Compliance – FDA, USDA, HACCP, cGMP
This position requires the ability to regularly sit, stand and move about the facility.
