Director of National & Key Accounts

Position Purpose:
The Director of National & Key accounts will be responsible for managing & growing our business with chain & key account groups. You will be responsible for building & managing relationships with national chains, distributor partners and key stake-holders. With chains you’ll pitch new items, manage programming support, planograms, and survey for opportunity. You will grow our current chain business. You will be the point for Venues, Groups and Ski areas in CO and beyond. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales.
Roles & Responsibilities:
? Chains: Maintain and build high level of communication with all major chains- Kroger, Safeway, Whole Foods, Total Wine, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Trader Joe’s. Execute new item submissions and pitch decks utilizing data. Identify set objectives for traditional grocery as well as liquor and natural foods channel.
? Key Groups: Create business plans to grow business and manage relationships with local CO based restaurant groups. This includes Vail Resorts, Venues, and other on premise groups.
? On Premise Chains: Uncovering opportunity with chains like BWWs, Old Chicago’s, Cheba Hut etc. to grow business. Create plans to ensure success.
? Tracking: Develop dashboard to track all facets of chains- # stores, divisions, points of contact, reset timing, submissions and create strategy utilizing key performance markers to be successful with multiple brands across all channels.
? Schedule: Maintains an up-to-date calendar, requires travel for chain calls.
? Build: Key relationships with buyers and have a “lead by example” with sales team, survey pricing, verify PODs & resets. Create target goals for distribution, programs, and gain incremental displays and coupons.
? Work with: the sales team & 3rd-party sampling companies to schedule, educate and execute strategic events throughout the year to support new distribution, new & seasonal launch sku’s.
? Create: impactful drive to retail programs with KPI’s to track success.
Position Requirements:
Skills, Knowledge, Attitude
? 5+ years of relevant national, venue & key accounts sales experience in the craft beverage- beer wine or spirits industry. The candidate with a list of current chain buyers contacts and recent interaction is a must.
? Working in the office at Acreage 3 – 4 days /week with 1 Work from home or market day is the expectation. There will be travel occasionally and a professional demeanor is expected during all facets of the job.
? Planning, communication, and problem solving are all important traits for this position. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and works well without direct supervision but also understands the value of contributing to the team.
? Understands market trends and analyzes for opportunity and competition in the food/beverage industry.
? Always presents a professional, can-do and team-oriented, achievement-driven mindset.
? Collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams like marketing, R&D, and sales.
Benefits & Salary:
The Director of National & Key accounts position will report to the VP of Sales. This is a full-time position, based in Lafayette, CO.
Salary at $100 – 130K / year, depending on experience.
